Re: Music scrap thread

the melody in hhc112 gives me this weird feeling. its like theres one note that isnt right, and makes it emotionally confusing. i'm not sure how to make it work. i modulate to a lydian mode for the last chord of each phrase, so that's where the weirdness is coming from. happy hardcore isn't really ...

Re: Music scrap thread

I have been struggling to make anything for a week, after putting off doing this last track for the game project ive been working on for waht is probably a whole month. paradoxically i felt i had no control in spite of being the composer with an incredible amount of freedom to just hand in what I f...

Re: game dev bulletin board

recently i've gotten a bit into lisp languages, and there's a currently running lisp game jam that i'm going to try out. i've never made a full game before and i've never written completed lisp program before so there are lots of firsts for me here. my plan is to target web assembly using this game ...

Re: emacs thread

...and im curious what keeps people away from using it it's a few things. when you write everything in your init.el it's more easily portable to other systems. you don't need to manually reinstall every external package if you manage it all in a bunch of (use-package) blocks. and if you're using us...

Re: emacs thread

whoa that's a wild thing to do with vi. i'd never really considered changing the stock vi keybindings because it seemed like way too much stuff revolves around them being the stock ones. does it work well? or do you end up having to rebind the whole world? now that i think about it, i never really e...

Re: Share your desktops / backgrounds

some person on /r/unixporn recently made a go program that maps a color scheme onto an image for use as a background, but i couldn't get it to compile on my guixsd machine. i spent the last few days learning some more common lisp and reimplementing their super simple algorithm. rn the program has no...

Re: Music scrap thread

from the bottom of the attachment list up: #1 a friend asked me to make a remix of one of her songs for a remix album. this is a bit of an older WIP of it, you'll all need to wait until next week to hear the full thing. i have this idea for a sound and a style called "neurotrance". the goa...
