it was just in service of doing everything myself. i used a cheap vps from digitalocean as the smtp server and proxy for everything else i hosted though, as i didnt want to expose my home ip address ...

i used to host a lot of stuff from my house, from email to media servers… the only thing that’s survived until now is the media server (old pc with hard drives stuffed into it) i keep under my desk, with anything else moved to either a fleet of VPS’s i don’t actually use or services with better ...
