I saw Slowdive in Montreal with maru last week. First concertgoing experience so I'm in the club now!! I wrote a little bit about it in my trip report, but here's some more detail and some pictures.
So, the setlist was the same save for the encore. They didn't do a cover of Golden Hair like they ...

Re: Lenten sacrifices
During Lent last year I stopped using my noise-canceling headphones. I felt I was using them to block my family out. I also felt like I was locking myself away too readily. I was told as much by one of my folks who was agitated I wasn't hearing when asked about something or not hearing any knocking ...

Part 2: Gravity
I’m sitting in the Costa coffee at London Liverpool Street sipping a cortado and hugging my backpack to my chest. This is the first real chance I’ve had to sit and decompress. I was out in the big cold main room of the station and ate a pack of crisps and a shitty breakfast ...

Montreal Trip Report
Part 1: Stencil
I was in Montreal from the 20th and the 29th. It was a gift to me from my most cherished friend maru. The following is a breakdown of the whole week and a bit, as much as I can line up and haven’t accidentally let slip my mind. Sorry if you were there and anything is out of order ...

New Year
It is the 31st of December, at the time of writing it is 9 and a half hours until January 1st, 2025. What was your year like? What are you doing today, what are you doing tomorrow? Today, I'm not going anywhere to celebrate, I'll just be spending a little time with the family again like I did during ...

Re: Boxing Day
That is an incredible pile of food, watermoon. Thats mushroom pepper gravy right? It all looks very good. Maybe lounging around with the one you love is good enough. the last christmas I had that was a real event is years and years behind me. But I cant say I wouldnt be a little sad about not ...

I completely forgot one very important detail: a lot of my christmas day was spent watching Ross' Game Dungeon. God I love that guy.

Boxing Day

Here in the UK it is the 26th of December, 0135 AM at time of writing, aka boxing day. Let's reflect on what we were up to and how you're feeling right now, maybe how your week has gone.

Re: favorite finds of 2024
over the course of the year i've listened to probably over 800 albums, by virtue of a job where my coworker keeps taking on projects that fall under my jurisdiction, constraining my actual duties little by little to the point where some days i have nothing better to do than to sit around and ...

Re: Recent Albums
I gave some time to Techno Animal's Re-Entry and was disappointed. The first half is long and the beats are repetitive, things which I wouldn't ordinarily complain about. If the sampling didnt feel so dated, these detailed and worked over tracks wouldn't irritate me so much. But no, it blusters away ...

Re: playlist creation
I've been chewing on a new playlist for a few weeks and finally spit out a final tracklist yesterday. The sequence could be smoother, with more lead in, more shared elements, but I think it is okay. Its good enough to post, anyway. My information diet is very sparse right now; im not listening to a ...

Re: playlist creation
As I started writing this post I was only halfway through the mix, and through my little drafts it ended. I like it a lot. The arc is just right, the sense of the intensity burning off, leaving behind this one, important thing. It's great, it hits in a familiar way, but its also very you, maru.

Nope I'm just using from my browser right now; best option for GNUS integration seems like running a phpBB <-> NNTP gateway, like this https://github.com/jpm/papercut one which was written in Python 2 and doesn't appear to have been touched in 20 years lol. What did you use to get fedi in ...

Re: emacs thread
Based as hell, I've actually been procrastinating on posting to Paralogue because was trying to figure out how to interact with phpBB from GNUS lol
Did you figure it out, getting phpBB to work in GNUS? Or are you using a setup like watermoon seems to have, with w3m? I have never used emacs as ...
