Way back at the inception of this board we talked a bit, in a very freeform way, about workflows and tools . It came up again talking about computers , just figuring out new ways to organise piles of stuff across computers.
Another example: I moved from streaming services to just having all my ...

Re: Music in Languages You Don't Understand
I also listen to Japanese artists like 黒百合姉妹 and 夢中夢 and Mass of the Fermenting Dregs, also some Kenshi Yonezu songs. And I'm a fan of the Slovak-language album "n5" by Katarzia. But these are more just me straight up randomly running into something and liking it despite not fully understanding it ...

Re: Computer Love
So I had gotten into remission with my computer shenanigans. Then lately after a friend came over , it got reignited.
So, in sum:
satsuki : Razer Blade 14. Windows 11 Pro. Last time I used this was to beat Atelier Sophie 2 and I just felt like having to do it on PC made me less inclined to play ...

Re: Share your desktops / backgrounds
Well, @8sumint and I did something strange today, but it's strangely comfy.
That's right -- a ThinkCentre with an i3 and an Intel HD 630, needing very little to run smoothly with Firefox, IRC and all. YouTube renders fine, idk, I can't think of how to push it aggressively now.

My girlfriend and I are going through Fate/Apocrypha again. I stand by that it's "pretty good"; I mean, it has pew pew flashy stuff, and I'm here for the mechanics of magic stuff, but it's not afraid to get weird really quickly with the established Fate rules. And she and I had seen The El Melloi ...

Re: Teaching yourself...
Fascinating that you sequence your projects and tasks. How do you determine which order to put them in? What takes priority?
Well, in the case of physics, it's something I wish I learned instead of going all in on the humanities from a young age; but it has little direct relevance to my life ...

Re: Teaching yourself...
It's been just over two months since you posted this thread, how is your progress so far on this self teaching? Anything you've discovered and wish to share? Is it going how you hoped it would?
Actually, a related problem appeared — my own capacity to take up new projects from whole cloth and ...

Re: Japan travelogue II
My friend pointed out that I shouldn't get too introspective and instead just have a good time. So I think I'll write a bit on what I've enjoyed so far, now that we've migrated over to Hiroshima.

I was walking around yesterday and just recalled that I wanted to learn physics. Like, beyond watching YouTube videos and feeling philosophical awe, I wanted to get an undergraduate understanding of physics.

Re: Project management tools
This is currently in a state of flux for me. I'm considering publishing a notebook so that I can write shorter posts in a less "here's my full professional name" place, and remove some of my poems from that section and put it in the notebook instead. But so many other things are in flux that it ...

An old boss from a previous job the other week was saying that doing startups was 'playing the lottery,' it was essentially gambling, and gambling is an act of desperation. It is what you do when no other option makes sense (and it is what you do when you have an addiction...); it is itself an ...

Japan travelogue II
I'm in Japan again. I have been leaving my girlfriend daily voicemails this time, so I feel less compelled to journal the play-by-play as consistently as I did in the first thread. I think this time around I'd like to write infrequent, thinky sorts of posts.
So, that said, it's already happening ...

Re: reading
Sometimes I like to do editing passes with AI assistants on my blog — a recent entry I wrote on my general belief system was responded to with "this sounds reminiscent of Catholic personalism," a philosophy of which I've never really looked at. It turns out to be associated with the nonconformists ...
