My TV broke eight months ago and then I put off getting a new one until like. three weeks ago. but I have a new one now which means I'm on an FFXIV kick again. I've been playing it since like mid 2020 (thanks COVID) off and on. I cleared the main story campaign up to Endwalker, the most recent expa...

I think this five hour long in-depth explanation of every entry on a Magic: the Gathering meme about extremely niche rules interactions is probably one of my favorite videos ever. <a href='https://www.youtube.com/live/QKOS4fFKlAw' rel='nofollow noopener' target='_blank'>https://www.youtube.com/live...

Basically the only Type Moon content I've consumed is FGO so I don't know lol. I wouldn't be surprised if other VNs I'd have a fairly similar reaction to - some of FGO is also like this, and half of it isn't even written by Nasu but guest authors.

Ok I finished it. I think in general it was very meh? Most of the story was fairly slice-of-life-y about Aoko, Alice, and their pet dog, but not in a way that really made the finale land emotional blows - they bantered a lot, but there wasn't much deep interaction comparatively. It was definitely w...

OH AND ALSO Me seeing Aoko and Alice's NP from FGO meant when I was reading the VN I pointed directly at the screen of my Switch and did the soyjack face when they did the thing there too. So that was pretty cool. Peep this: <a href='https://youtu.be/ih_qbbeaYZ0' rel='nofollow noopener' target='_bl...

I started reading Witch on the Holy Night ("Mahoyo"), the like 10+ year old kinetic novel by Type-Moon. I'd say I started reading it because I was on sale, but I saw it was on sale because they added Aoko to Fate/Grand Order. I'd heard surprisingly few reviews about it: the majority of pe...

Yeah, Weird Machine is a term of art from cybersecurity that talks about the same thing - Sergey Bratus, a project manager at DARPA, coined the phrase and it's been used in trying to formalize what a computer exploit *is* in terms of state machines and unexpected transitions. <a href='https://www.a...

I'm chc4 o/ 27M, I mostly do computer programming. I'm also into science fiction (my favorite author is William Gibson), magic: the gathering (I exclusively play Commander sorry), dungeons & dragons, and watching people play video games on YouTube and Twitch. I mostly listen to emo indie rock b...

I don't actually watch GDQ very much, but I've seen a lot of VoDs from it and really love speedrunning and the surrounding culture (including 4 hour Mario 64 explanation videos). It tickles a lot of the same neurons in my brain as cybersecurity, where you have a like set of actions you can do (whic...
